The Grand Complex project (consisting of 3-Level Shopping Center + Residential Tower + Business Tower) was initially designed for district cooling. In order to avoid further delays arising from connecting the project to the district cooling network, chiller systems were proposed.
We were assigned the task to convert the already-completed system from district cooling to chillers. The main challenge was to find a location to install the chillers, then to connect the chillers to the existing chilled water system. This required a thorough understanding of the project’s architecture and structure and ability to handle the heavy-weight chiller systems to be installed.
The conversion process involved installing 14 chillers (425 refrigeration ton each) with a total of 5,100 refrigeration tons. In addition to the design and installation of a Chiller Plant Network and control system including pumps.
We were also assigned the task for testing and commissioning the entire project. The testing and commissioning of the project involved piping pressure testing, water treatment and chemical additions, FCU repairs, air-duct repairs and insulation, chilled water piping repairs and insulation, valves and controls, etc.
The testing and commissioning of the project was followed by an Annual Maintenance Contract.
